As We See It : a group show featuring works by Pia Juhl Nadel, Lee Nadel, Danette English, Nicole Bannerman and Martin Sorger, all artists residing on Greater Cape Ann. The show consists of acrylic and mixed media paintings, photography, and ceramics that draw inspiration from the beauty, contrasts and characteristics of the area, permanent and impermanent. Each work embodies the artist's observation of nature and color that ripple through Cape Ann. Together, the artists reflect on gentle and rugged beauty, saturated colors and the luminance of black and white, and shifting atmospherics that expose and obscure the landscape. Cape Ann is a place that can be interpreted in so many ways and has inspired these artists to extract different elements from a shared surrounding.
