maria malatesta | quiet distance
December 5 - 21 . 2025
Opening Reception | Saturday December 6th from 3-5pm
“When I first moved to Cape Ann I was enchanted by the late August light. After thirty years, I am still struck by the magnitude of colors in the sky and reflective light on the ocean: the mist, the fog. It is forever changing. Time spent in nature affects the color and mark making of my paintings. The presence of the landscape emerges from memory. Like a walk in the woods, I step into the quiet of nature and distant space.” — Maria Malatesta
