postcards | seven artists communicate

On March 15, 2020, COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic, and shutdowns began worldwide.   It soon became clear that this emergency would not resolve quickly.

Via Zoom, our small group of artist friends began weekly meetings to chat, share concerns, resolve conundrums and nurture connections.  Art and art work, naturally, were  principal topics of discussion, and soon we made a decision to begin making original individual postcard-sized artworks and mail them to each other on a regular basis. The cards became a life-line for many of us, giving us something tangible to share with each other, both in real time and in the virtual world. These works are humorous, sad, exciting, heartfelt…alive.  They reflect all that was going on in the world and in our minds and hearts.
